How to Make an AI Project More Likely to Succeed
There’s a large gap between aspiration and reality when it comes to implementing AI in organizations. How do you make sure that your company is going to get more successful results from its AI endeavors? First, you need to make your purpose clear. AI does not exist in a vacuum, but in the context of your business model, processes, and culture. Just as you wouldn’t hire a human employee without an understanding of how he or she would fit into your organization, you need to think clearly about how an artificial intelligence application will drive actual business results. Then, choose the tasks you want to automate, and the data behind them, wisely. Think through which data sources you are using and create models that humans can understand and verify. Finally, as AI takes over more and more low-level tasks, be sure to shift humans to higher-value social tasks.
