Restrict Edition
We can try to change the restriction and thus be able to use the document freely, how is it done? Follow these steps.
We look for the Programmer module on the ribbon.
Select the Protect option and click on restrict editing.
Next we activate the option “Allow only this type of edition in the document”
We select the part of the document where we want to allow the changes.
Use macros
If the previous trick does not work try this more advanced, using Excel macros we will be able to open the document.
Step 1: Open the Excel spreadsheet that is protected and press the keys: Alt + F11 so you can work with your spreadsheet in developer mode.

Step 3: Click on “execute” right at the top of the window or press the F5 key to execute the command. Excel will launch a message on the screen which contains the spreadsheet password.

Step 4: Enter the password and click> OK. Now go to the tab, select> “Review” and then click> “Unprotect sheet”.
Step 5: Enter the document password. Now you can check out Excel sheet that has a password.

Another way to unlock Excel sheets is through the review tab, you just have to follow the following steps:
You open your spreadsheet that is protected and click on the tab where it says> Review.
Click where it says> Check out sheet.
